The year 2023 marked the third wave of scandals that rushed over the American church—involving Hillsong and Kansas City. But this goes back into the 1980s, further down into the roots of movements that had suspect beginnings. What are the lessons to be learned from these modern sects and scandals? Why are the roots and the founders important? And what are these fruits by which we would know them?

Homeschooled himself in the 1960's and 70's, Kevin Swanson and his wife, Brenda, are now homeschooling their five children. Since graduating from his homeschool and then serving as student body president of a large west coast university, he has gone on to other leadership positions in corporate management, church, and other non-profits.
