U.S. college registration had fallen by 4 million in ten years, a 600,000 drop in one year. At this rate, college attendance will halve in ten more years. Some 60% of 25-44-year-old workers in the force are saddled with debt. And the average debtor will spend a minimum of 6 years paying off the debt. For the college debtor of 1975, the average debtor could have paid it off in 9 months. Can you hear the dearth knell of the liberal college? Is it time to go back to the Jesus method for training pastors, instead of using the liberal arts college to manufacture proud, corrupting man-worshipers?
